The newest CREW news, your resource for the latest and greatest as far as the CREW guys are concerned.
YouTube, iTunes, Vancouver (& Island)
April 28, 2010
OK everyone. Forget this drip-feed of information thing - letting you know what’s going on once every few months is fine. Just fine.
Bad news first: our Christmas album is being postponed… BUT the good thing about that is that Christmas comes pretty much annually, so we’ll still be able to catch the next one (we’re shooting for a release of fall of 2011). Now I’m not blaming anyone for anything here but one of the reasons may have to do with one of our guys moving to Thailand (you guess which one)!
Good news next: we have our own authentic YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/thecrewguys1)!!! You can check it out now but there will be a cool video coming soon (will let you know). Our friend Ivan does some great work and has been stellar in helping us out with video-type thingys, including “Caution: May Contain Nuts”, our DVD. He’s truly fantastic.
ALSO, you can now buy us on iTunes!!! It has taken a few weeks, but hey, for all of those who have asked about whether you can get our stuff on iTunes we can now say “YES/OUI”! Search for ‘the CREW Father Of All’ or ‘the CREW Sans Doigts’.
Take a look at our calendar as well… we are so very much looking forward to being with our friends in Richmond on May 21, on the Island for a Youth Concert (and hot dogs!) on May 22, and helping with the music for worship at Warmland Community Church in Crofton on May 23. We hope to have a little spare time in there to record some new tunes as well. We shall endeavor to keep you up to date! So yeah, if where we are performing is within 8 hours of where you are, we’d LOVE to see you!!!
In Michigan
March 10, 2010
Just letting you all know that we are in Michigan at the mo and things are going swimmingly well and that we have put up some pics on our Facebook page! More about all that a bit later...
post-GMA
November 02, 2009
Well well well we were certainly glad that we were nominated for a GMA award! It's not really so much about winning. It was an honour just to be nominated. Really. Nominations are great. We love them. Seriously.
Actually we had a blast in Calgary - the banquet and after-party were great; we met all sorts of incredibly talented people, saw some amazing performances, and reconnected with some old friends (well done Jennifer Jade Kerr!). It would be great to be part of it all again next year! The only drawback was the snow on Saturday morning. It was certainly... cold.
We did a concert on Sunday night for a few people who were brave enough to come hear us try some new stuff (you were all very kind). It went pretty well and was quite fun as well. At least I had fun!
So yeah, that's it for 2009... will keep in touch though, as we'll be pursuing (no, not in a 'I'm chasing you with a hot poker' sort of way) a producer for one of our tunes...
...been busy
September 14, 2009
OK just quick, since you can go to www.myspace.com/thecrewguys for a bit more detail!
We had a rehearsal recently to um... rehearse new music. Lots of acapella stuff, some with a guest artist (ooh, it's a surprise!!!) and wrote some stuff too - working on a Christmas album (for 2010) and getting ready for the Olympics (Gary's pole vault REALLY needs work) and some gatherings with our friends in Ohio. We'll also be putting something on YouTube 'round about the New Year or before...
So, yep. We're still around. OH! And Sans Doigts received a GMA nomination for Compilation Album of the Year! Yay us! BUT even more: YAY GOD! Thanks to you as well, you CREWbies!!!
music and TV
December 27, 2008
Oh, and, BTW we are thinking of recording a Christmas album... any songs you'd like to suggest? Please, make a suggestion - we need help!!!
AND we may be on TV - you can take a shot at guessing what channel...
That was a hint.
tour done & Christmas
December 27, 2008
Our tour finished up nicely with our very kind friends in Ohio before we all went our separate ways. Now it's all Christmassy, and everyone is reminded again of how thankful for the babe in the manger and the life He has brought to us all...
the tour so far
November 20, 2008
It is so fantastic to see old friends and family again!!! Thanks everyone for coming out to see our sillyness! Some quick highlights: Idlewyld Inn (beautiful!) in London playing our first ever crib game as a group (ohhh, REAL rock stars!); some lovely popsicle-on-a-sticks in Fisherville; an incredible professionally prepared gourmet meal in St. Catharines, and a very warm welcome from our American neigbours... but the funniest was when Paul fell asleep at the computer in the hotel lobby in Ann Arbor 'till 1:30am...
ALL RIGHT ALREADY!!!

Is this why my fridge smells so funny?
Well, Mr. Website, I neglect you no longer!!!
The spring tour went well, obviously, and now we're just about to start another adventure on the "Autumn Edition" of the CREW's 20th anniversary tour! Please come... even if we haven't seen you since forever ago - or even if it seems we've seen you too much (that's IMPOSSIBLE)!!!
Will write again sooner than later... must really dispose of that salmonella chicken now.
PS keep an eye on youtube (search for "thecrewguys" - I will shortly be posting some new video from our DVD...
the CREW finishes first concert of tour
May 31, 2008
After a very busy day of preparation, the concert went quite well! It was of course a pleasure to have qSarah sing some of her favs before we hit the stage. The audience laughed at all the right times (and a few extra times) and exercised their gracious patience as we worked out some technical glitches.
It was a pleasant surprise to see the youth group from down the way as well! Thanks guys!!!
Now we rehearse even more for Sunday morning in Kelowna, plus the concert in the evening...
Hope to see you soon!
CDs done, finally!
May 14, 2008
The CDs are being reproduced in Toronto as I type; some of the new tracks are on www.myspace.com/thecrewguys, and sooooon you will be able to see what you can buy online via this website!!!
